Date: July 20, 2008 Location: Florida Keys (Florida) Country: United States Comments: Key Deer (Odocoileus virginianus clavium) are a tiny subspecies of the White-tailed Deer found only on a few islands in the Florida Keys. They often show little fear of humans...which is both fun to observe and a major reason that so many have been hit by cars along busy US 1. They are currently listed as a threatened species. |
