Fall in the Appalachians
This update is a little dated, but I
still think that the photographs are worth sharing. I spent
two days in Great Smoky Mountain National Park during
mid-October 2005. The park was somewhat busier than I had
expected, but the Smoky Mountains are an incredible draw
during the fall. Dry conditions during late summer were being
blamed for the near complete absence of fall color within the
park this year. Still there are lots of beautiful places to explore, and I
think that I spent my
time well. I even found a bit of fall color on my way out
through the Blue Ridge Parkway.
